National Geographic selected Steve Baroch as National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year (2018) for his photo of baby penguins in the Antarctic.
Steve's photo of boys in Kenya receiving books and schools supplies delivered by Steve and his friends was selected as Photo of the Year by "Rotarian" Magazine in 2009 .
In 2015, Steve's photo of Maasai Jewelry was printed as part of Smithsonian Magazine's yearly contest.
His first book was Trans-Afrika which raised funds to build a school for the Maasai Tribe in the Ngong Hills area of Kenya.
The second was a collaborative effort with Dave Talbot, founder of CrutchesForAfrica in 2020. Their photos were taken out of the windows of planes and jets, from hot air balloons and from helicopters. David and Steve have traveled for business, study and for the sheer thrill of travel but, their greatest enjoyment has always come from the joy of traveling to help others.
